In the present study, we performed a simulation experiment to examine physical effects on the movement of fetus in the amniotic fluid. A doll made of vinyl chloride materials, a water bath made of acrylic plates, a rubber balloon and artificial seawater were used as models of fetus, uterus, amnion and amniotic fluid, respectively. The doll was placed in a bath (Pattern I)or a balloon filled with the sea water. In the latter case, the balloon was placed in the bath where the balloon was tightly touched to the wall of the water bath or it was separated from the wall. The bath was fixed on a tilting table. Three dimensional movements of models according to tilt of the table were recorded with three video cameras from the front, lateral and rostral sides of the doll. The side image demonstrated that displacement of the relative angle measured between an axis imaged on the doll and an axis on the bath wall increased when the table was tilted. The relative angle observed from other two sides didn\u0027t change. These results show that a substance in a bath filled up with artificial seawater keeps the original position even when the bath was tilted and we were able to extract the voluntary action of the fetus
