Collisions of lead-zirconate-titanate (PZT) elements with hypervelocity microparticles are described. Responses immediately after collision are particularly studied to deal with information on velocity and/or mass at impact. The potential of the PZT element is discussed to realize a real time dust detector in space. A small area on ISS (International Space Station) is needed to establish its calibration and further development.
