The gravisensing mechanism of woody stem has been studied using the normal and weeping Japanese cherry grown under simulated microgravity condition or inclining stimulus. In the present paper, the control of its morphogenesis in the secondary tissue, supporting tissue of woody stem by gravity and the role of the starch sheath cells with sedimentable amyloplasts as the gravisensor will be discussed.
