So-called dual-mode combustion is attained in the RBCC engine in supersonic to hypersonic regime up to M=7 to pressurize the engine expansion part for high thrust. One dimensional analysis of the flow in the engine can change a parameter in short course, and it is useful for system analysis of the transportation system including this engine. Up to now,when applying the analysis and comparing its result with experimental result of a RBCC model,there was substantial over estimation in the analytical result. One of causes is inappropriate estimation of mixing efficiency, and adding the improvement to past empirical formula applicable to the wide aspect-ratio engine is required.In the present study,mixture process in square duct close to actual flow section in the RBCC was investigated by gas sampling experiment in non-reacting flow.It is difficult to estimate the fine-scale mixing by gas-sampling. Therefore gas sampling tests in to reacting field was done to understand the deviation between the Fine-scale mixing and bulk-scale mixing based on time and spatial averaged sampling. Finally the result of combustion test and non-combustion test are combined, and a model was proposed to enable estimation of fine scale-mixing based of bulk-scale data.", "subitem_description_type":
