Aerodynamic experiments, in which the breakup of molten silicate occurred by the interaction with high-velocity gas flow, were carried out. The size distributions of dispersed droplets were investigated with two methods: an image analysis and the recovery of fragments. The distributions obtained with both methods were consistent. Also the representative sizes estimated from the distributions were consistent with the results by the experiments using water and the mixture of water and glycerol. Moreover, the threshold of breakup was obtained to be We approximately equal to 20. Using the results, the process of precursor melting and chondrule formation was discussed.
