The model includes the lateral variations of the crustal thickness and the concentration of heat-generating elements, and a vertical distribution of thermal conductivity which depends on the porosity in the crust. The calculated heat flows are compared with the observed heat-flows at Apollo 15 and 17sites. It is found that calculated heat flow values are 20 to 30 percent larger than the observed values by Langseth et al. (1973): the difference will become further larger, if the heat flow focusing effect induced by megaregolith thickness variation is taken into account. In order to explain the difference, it has to be assumed that the skin depth of heat-generating-element distribution is around 20 km which is smaller than crustal thickness but is still much higher
