Recently, bioethanol (BE) has attracted much attention as a clean rocket engine fuel because of its reusability and environmental suitability. On the other hand, aluminum which is expected to apply on a tankor structure materials because of its importance in weight decreasing shows corrosion property toward alcohol. In the present research, we confirmed the corrosion of aluminum alloys (A6061) by means of material compatibility experiments using BE. However, we succeeded the anti-corrosive effect for A6061 by alumite treatment and Ni coatings. Furthermore, we also examined the compatibility of non-metal materials such as FRPs and O-ring toward BE. We found that these non-metal materials have no compatibility toward BE but Ni-coated CFRP showed compatibility.
