National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA)
NASDA is developing the experimental procedures under microgravity with aircaft or small rocket, seeking common utility techniques for JEM (Japanese Experiment Module). The experiments using aircraft is easier and cheaper than those of falling tower, rocket, space shuttle or space station etc., though microgravity environment obtained are relatively poor in quality. In the case of aircraft experiment, a lot of opportunities of experiments can be available, a little bit improved instruments compared with that on the ground experiment are sufficient. MU-300 aircraft was used, and experimental system consists of data recorder, g indicator, rack, free floating apparatus and data processor. Microgravity environment with 1 x 10(exp -2)-5 x 10(exp -2) g and 20 s duration was available. About 10(exp -4) g and 3 s duration were obtained for the free floating experiment.
