Active vibration isolation system for microgravity environment is now under study. Two pairs of a voice-coil type electromagnetic suspension and a position sensor control two Degrees of Freedom (DoF) for an axis, namely translation and rotation. Three sets of this two DoF control system provide six DoF control. A system evaluation under microgravity on this active vibration isolation system has been planned and performed in September, 1991 using MU-300 type aircraft. Acceleration disturbances above 0.1 Hz has been reduced effectively by using the system. Numerical simulation shows a good agreement with these experimental results. Besides, the vibration isolation ability of the system has been visualized by observing bubble behavior with/without vibration isolation.
