To cope with the aeroacoustic problem of a helicopter, Kawasaki Heavy Industries joined in the research project of ATIC (Advanced Technological Institute of Commuter Helicopter) and has been conducting the development of the conceptual design, component research, and analytical method for a low noise rotor. Moreover, in order to evaluate the results of the research project, an aeroacoustic model rotor was manufactured and a wind tunnel test of the model rotor was carried out at DNW of the Netherlands. In this paper, the outline of both the aeroacoustic model rotor device and the DNW (Deutsche-Niederlandische Windkanal) wind tunnel test is introduced.
