This paper presents the applications of CASPER (Computational Aerodynamic System for Performance Evaluation and Research) to 2D (two dimensional) airfoil stall prediction, developed by TRDIJDA (Technical Research and Development Institute of Japan Defense Agency) in collaboration with domestic aircraft manufactures. The RANS (Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes) computations for flows around three airfoils were carried out, which have different stall characteristics, using unstructured grid method together with Spalart-Allmaras one-equation turbulence model. The computational results show good agreement with the experimental pressure distribution and Lift coefficient for low angles of attack, and indicate the potential to predict Cl(sub max) and the angle of attack.
