The shear cell method is one of the experimental methods of liquid diffusion measurements, which has the following advantages; heating and cooling process aren't included for measurements, and solidification process doesn't affect on measurements. But shear cell method needs to prevent the evaporation of sample, and it is hard to measure the diffusion coefficients of high vapor pressure liquids, such as GaAs. In this research, a sealing technique of the shear cell method was developed for liquid diffusion measurements of high vapor pressure materials. First, the investigation to confirm the sealing mechanism was performed. Then the effectiveness of B2O3 for sealing was confirmed, and the experiments were carried out to check the transmissivity of sample through a boron nitride crucible. A shear cell with sealing mechanism was produced, and a diffusion experiment was performed. It was confirmed that B2O3 was effective to prevent high vapor pressure sample from evaporation.
