The aerodynamic interference problem of jet transport aircraft due to the close coupling between nacelle and wing is one of the major concerns of aerodynamic engineers. At the research level, the Navier-Stokes code is beginning to be applied to such a problem. At the engineering level the application of the panel method is more practical. This paper presents the results of applying the Boundary Element Method (a new generation panel method developed by the National Aerospace Laboratory) code to the analysis of nacelle interference of a practical jet transport configuration. Correlation between calculated and tested results is also presented.
