An upwind scheme is constructed by the use of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the convective Jacobian matrices for the general non-equilibrium gas-dynamic equations in generalized curvilinear coordinates. This method is applied to chemically reacting hypersonic flows around a hemi-sphere cylinder and a spaceplane. The results show a splendid shock capturing capability and robustness of our scheme, revealing some characteristics of high temperature effects.
