This paper presents a simple analytical method for air cooled turbine performance utilizing the small deviation method. The new method has many advantages, the most outstanding of which is the capability of calculating the effects of cooling air on various parameters of turbine performance in a simple manner. Various functional relationships, including cooling air flow rate and change of Row path area etc., are derived for the two-stage turbine employed as the example turbine to show the calculation procedure of the present method. The method was also compared with available experimental data on single-stage tur- bines. The comparison showed good agreement.
