National Experimental Supersonic Transport (NEXST) Project was commenced in 1997 and was finalized with the successful flight experiment in 2005. A scaled supersonic aircraft was developed to verify the aerodynamic design technology using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method. It showed that it would be expected more than 10 % improvement in aerodynamic efficiency compared with the Concord technology.
