The solar sail demonstrator IKAROS was launched in May 2010, and it successfully deployed its solar sail in the following month. The membrane of "IKAROS" is flexible and this flexibility is observed by the rate gyros on the main body when the attitude control is performed. In this study, the flight data of the angular velocity during the attitude control is compared with the simulation data of a simple solar sail model and the flexible motion of IKAROS is analyzed.
