The 20th Workshop on JAXA Astrodynamics and Flight Mechanics 2010 (July 26-27, 2010. Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)(ISAS)), Sagamihara, Kanagawa Japan
This paper studies the relative motion control of formation flying in eccentric orbits with the J(sub 2) perturbation. The modified Tschauner-Hempel equations and its state transition matrix are derived, which contain correction terms of the J(sub 2) perturbation. Then we propose an optimal control method that minimizes the L(sub 2) norm of velocity increments. Numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
