Recently, wheeled rovers have been gaining popularity for their use in conducting planetary exploration missions. However, there is a problem associated with wheeled rovers in that they are likely to get stuck in soil while traversing such terrains. As one of methods, there are elastic wheels. This study carried out running experiment using elastic wheel. From results, the elastic wheel had high performance when one traversed loose soil with slope. In this study, we carry out running experiments using elastic wheel with various amount of deflection. The elastic wheels which we use are made from beryllium copper, magnesium and stainless.
