Workshop on JAXA Astrodynamics and Flight Mechanics, 2009 (July 30-31, 2009. Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS), Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)), Sagamihara, Kanagawa Japan
Satellites which have flexible structures such as tethers or membranes undergo rigid body motion with their large deformation. Absolute Nodal Coordinate Formulation (ANCF) is attracting a lot of attention as a method for dealing with such behaviors. However, there are not enough researches which validate the method by comparison with experimental data. In this investigation, dynamic stiffening effect of flexible beam undergoing large rotation is focused on and ANCF is validated by comparison of numerical results and experimental results to construct an analysis method for the behaviors of the satellites with flexible elements.
