We use the direction cosine matrix (DCM) describing geometrical relation in 3 dimensional space. For computational purpose the DCM results skew and off norm problem, so we use a unit quaternion that present the coordinate conversion as a rotation about an axis, equivalent to operate by the DCM. The 3 dimensional vector geometry using unit quaternion applied widely in attitude and orbit problem in space. Unit quaternion is a rotational operator that rotates a set of coordinate axis about rotational axes to form another set of coordinate axis. So the error should be treated as a ratio in quaternion that differ from unit quaternion reducing scalar part magnitude from 1. Average value of quaternion should be geometrical mean of unit quaternion. Applied to attitude determination problem, it result good estimation.
