Proceedings of 16th Workshop on JAXA Astrodynamics and Flight Mechanics
In the case of spinning spacecraft attitude determination, detection of sun angle in high resolution and wide field of view is needed. We have developed the Rocket Sun Aspect Sensor (RSAS) with a field of view of 128 degree and resolution of 0.5 degree. Furthermore, in order attitude determination of the spacecraft, two reference vectors and angles between the reference objects and spacecraft are needed, for example, sun and geomagnetic angle. Therefore, we developed the attitude determination system on the ground and software to receive rocket telemetry data, and calculate sun and geomagnetic angle. In this flight test, we verified the motion of RSAS and this attitude determination system by M-V-8 launch.
