The conductivity of the tether varies with temperacture of tether in orbit, and it affects the Lorentz force that EDT systems can generate. Tether temperature in orbit depends on the thermal optical property. However, the shape of tether is not suitable for the measurement of absorptivity and emissivity, and the temperature prediction is difficult. In this study, four types of tether were set in a solar simulation chamber, and the equilibrium temperature of tether was measured by a thermocouple.
