内容記述 | 無重力環境中におけるガラス融体の浮遊実験結果より、地上では困難な室温のガラス状態から高温の溶融状態に至る体積変化、形状変化、生じた気泡や結晶の変化を観察することができた。搭載VTRのテープの画像処理の結果、400〜500度Cのガラス転移温度付近で体積の急激な増加がみられるなど当初期待していたガラスの温度-体積関係の結果が得られた。しかし、600度C以上の高温になると、大きな気泡の発生や結晶の生成など地上実験では予想しなかった現象が生じる結果となった。この原因について詳しく調べ、検討を行うことにより、今後の宇宙空間でのガラス製造・加工のための重要な知見が得られると考えられる。 | |||||
