The analysis approach is based on the energy method that has been applied by one of authors using assumed mode functions for the purpose of analysing aircraft vibration problems. For the detailed analysis, the finite element method is widely used, but in a preliminary analysis the method described here is also useful since it is computationally tractable and easy to handle although there are constraints on the configuration complexity. The paper consists of two parts. The first part describes a mission model of the proposed platform containing six missions of communication and broadcasting. Launch sequences and deployments of the platform, and mass and inertia properties of the constitutent modules are briefly explained. The second part presents the analysis procedure, together with the simplifing assumptions, and the main results. The analyses are performed not only for the final platform of cross type and T-letter configuration but also for the interim stages of construction.
