CFD analyses of 2 element (NLR-7301) and 4 element (Boeing Model C) airfoils was conducted, using 2 different CFD codes (JAXA UPACS and MHI in-house codes). MHI in-house code adopts overset grid method. A new method of overset pattern optimization was developed, and grid dependency due to interpolation process is reduced by this method. The detail process of the method is described. Through the validation study, both CFD results agree well with WTT results. However, through the careful investigation of the CFD results, it was found that turbulence transition treatment of CFD highly affected the estimation of HLD aerodynamic characteristics. Finally, it comes to the conclusion that accurate prediction of the transition location is necessary for that of aerodynamic characteristics of HLD.", "subitem_description_type": "Other"}]}, 内容記述 | This paper presents numerical study on the 2-D high lift devices (HLD).
