Position Sensitive Tissue Equivalent Proportional Counter (PS-TEPC) has been developed for space dosimetry under the 'Ground based Research Announcement for Space Utilization' promoted by Japan Space Forum. Heavy ions irradiation experiments were performed at HIMAC (Heavy Ion Medical Accelerator in Chiba) of NIRS (Near-InfraRed Spectroscopy) to understand the response to heavy charged particles and a basic design of the PS-TEPC was completed.
