A most potential cause of fire in space is a fire from wire harnesses or electric circuit. An ignition and subsequent flame spreading over wire insulation in microgravity have been studied. This subject is selected as a candidate of ISS flight experiments through the International AO held in 2001 to 2002. In the present report, the status of the research and its future plan including the extension of microgravity research to the fire research on the ground will be indicated.
