Recently, the development of computer power has enabled to make large scale numerical simulation for turbulent flows. In this paper, studies on the simulation of flow around the NACA0012 airfoil without sweep are reported in order to develop the practical DNS (Direct Numerical Simulation) and LES (Large Eddy Simulation) technologies. The Reynolds number Re, based on the uniform inflow velocity and the chord length, is set to be 2.0 x 10(exp 6). Computations are now under going with the high performance parallel supercomputer NWT (Numerical Wind Tunnel) at NAL.
