          <datacite:description descriptionType="Other">An implicit Discontinuous Galerkin scheme for the hyperbolic conservation law is developed utilizing a pointwise relaxation algorithm. First, a scalar linear advective equation in the two-dimensional space is solved by the present pointwise relaxation scheme for a second- and third-order spatial accuracy. The obtained results show favorable convergence properties while retaining the spatial accuracy of the scheme rigorously. The scheme is then extended to solve the Euler equations in the two-dimensional space. The computed transonic inviscid flowfield over RAE2822 wing section shows that the present scheme is capable of providing higher order accurate solutions with a rapid convergence property. It is found, however, that the convergence property highly depends on the choice of the local basis functions as well as on the form of the slope limiter.</datacite:description>
