The HYFLEX vehicle was launched by the first J-1 launch vehicle from Tanegasima Space Center on February 12, 1996. It splashed down in the Pacific Ocean, the north-east of Bonin Islands, and memorable fruitful results were obtained. Here, the progress and the organization of the development, the features of the vehicle are described.
