          <datacite:description descriptionType="Other">NGST will be the most sensitive telescope for thermal infrared observations of theheavens when it is launched in mid-2009. Observations in the thermal infrared portion of the spectrum are important for a number of areas in the evolution of young stars: the very early phases of star formation, the dynamic processes related to mass accretion and outflows, the late evolution of protoplanetary disks, the kinematics of deeply embedded clusters and the study ofHII and PDR regions in the Local Group. NGST will make contributions to all of these areas, and for some it is likely to be the most important tool for study in the next 15 years.</datacite:description>
