          <datacite:description descriptionType="Abstract">ジェット旅客機の機内は、多数の平均的な乗客に対しては適度に快適であるように設計されているが、体質、体格、疾患、障がい等の特性を有する少数の乗客にとっては不快な環境であり、航空輸送に対するアクセシビリティが低い。本報告書は、全ての人々にとってアクセシブルな航空輸送を実現するため、課題を網羅的に調査し、その解決案を考え、考えた解決案の実現性を評価したものである。結果、車椅子に座ったままでのフライトの実現、車椅子利用者に関する運用観点からの改善、エコノミークラスのシートの快適性向上、アクセシブルなラバトリー、自動化による客室乗務員支援、航空機特有の厳しい機内環境の緩和といった課題について、JAXA で研究開発に取り組むことが可能と評価された。これらを機内で実現するためには、航空機のレギュレーションへの適合、省スペース、省エネルギー、軽量な設計とする等、航空機特有の要件を満足するための技術開発が必要となる。一方、座席数減少、開発コスト増加、重量増加による燃費性能低下といった理由で航空会社の収益を著しく圧迫すると想定される解決案は、航空会社が持続可能ではなく、実現は難しいと評価された。</datacite:description>
          <datacite:description descriptionType="Other">Cabin configuration and environment for commercial aircrafts are designed to be relatively comfortable for majority "average" passengers but are uncomfortable for minority passengers with characteristics of constitution, physique, disease, disabilities or disorders, causing lower accessibility of air transportation. In this report, for the purpose of realizing accessible air transportation for all people, issues for those passengers were comprehensively investigated, solutions were discussed, and the feasibility of the solutions was evaluated. As a result, in-flight wheelchair use as a seat, operational improvements regarding passengers with reduced mobility, improvements of economy class seats, accessible lavatories, automated equipment for supporting cabin attendants, and easing off the severe cabin environment were extracted as challenging topics for JAXA's research and developments. In order to realize them, it is necessary to develop technologies for satisfying regulations for aircraft safety, and for saving space, energy and weight. On the other hand, the solutions assumed to make a significant impact on airline's profit by reason of decrease the number of seats, huge development costs, and decrease fuel efficiency performance due to weight increase, was not sustainable for airlines and evaluated unfeasible.</datacite:description>
