          <dc:description>The influence of distributed surface roughness on the stability of channel flow is considered. The shape of the rough wall is represented in terms of Fourier expansions. The analysis consists of determination of the flow over such a wall followed by a linear stability analysis. The available results show that the presence of the roughness induces an instability that manifests itself in the form of streamwise vortices.</dc:description>
