material:炭素繊維強化炭素複合材料)を用いた可視光・赤外線望遠鏡用の軽量鏡の開発を行っており、その概要・進捗について報告する。C/C複合材料は、耐熱材などに用いられる軽量・高強度の複合材料である。研磨をしても粗さの改善に限界があり、ガラスのような均一な鏡とはならないが、その表面を改良し鏡面化することができれば、その物性からこれからの地上望遠鏡や宇宙望遠鏡の開発に大きな進展をもたらすと思われる。C/C複合材料を用いる利点として、(1)ハニカムサンドイッチパネル化して剛性を保った軽量化ができる、(2)材料設計により低熱膨張化が可能、(3)高熱伝導、(4)吸湿変形がない、が挙げられる。この利点を生かし、以下に挙げる項目を満たす鏡の要素技術を開発することが我々の目的である。H2Aロケットに収まる口径3.5m程度の1枚鏡。・能動支持機構なし。Areal Density<15kg/sq m(JWSTと同じ)。波長1ミクロンで回折限界観測が可能。・鏡の温度は、100K程度とする(中間赤外線10ミクロンまで観測可)。・低周波熱変形は、1nm/K(RMS)(熱変形を予測した逆研磨ができることを仮定)。・中・高周波熱変形は、0.1nm/K(RMS)。地上望遠鏡の場合(ΔT=20K)、開発目標は1桁緩くなる。我々は、これまでにカニゼンメッキによる鏡面化手法の開発、ロ径15cmの球面鏡の製作工程の確立・改善、および製作した鏡の熱変形測定による鏡の性能評価および問題点の割出しを行ってきた。熱変形評価の結果、現時点のC/C鏡において、1度Cあたりの熱変形量が中間赤外線において許容可能なレベルであることが分かった。可視光までを観測波長に入れるべく、熱変形を各周波数成分に分けることで変形原因を特定するとともにその変形の抑制を行っており、高周波変形は炭素繊維の束を小さくすることで、中周波変形はC/C表面基板の厚みを増すことで、変形が緩和されることを確認している。低周波変形については、メッキ厚を調整することで変形を抑えられる可能性がある。熱変形を改善する見込みをつけていく一方、熱変形ではない変形成分(真空引き前後、温度サイクル前後、経年変形)があること確認されており、現在のC/C鏡は形状安定性に問題がある(RMS〜0.05ミクロン)ことが分かった。従来用いていたC/C基材中には、数十ミクロン〜百ミクロンほどの大きさの空洞(炭素マトリクスが抜けている部分)が散在していることが破壊検査から確認されており、それらを改善することでこの形状安定性も改善すると期待される。基材中に空洞ができないようなC/C基材の製作工程開発はすでに完了している。これまでのC/C鏡には、炭素繊維束の織目部分に鏡面化されない部分ができることがあったが、基材の改善した結果、繊維束の織目に炭素マトリクスが十分に充填されており、この間題も解決に向かうと思われる。現在、改善した基材を用いた15cm鏡を製作している。","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_5_description_32":{"attribute_name":"資料番号","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"資料番号:
