Furthermore, prolonged exposure to microgravity may cause a decreased oxidative metabolism, therefore suggesting development and progression in metabolic syndrome and lifestyle-related diseases, e.g., type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. We examine the type and mechanism of diseases, which will be induced under microgravity conditions.
