However, only limited information has been obtained for this graviresponse. To clarify the nature and mechanisms of gravity resistance, we have organized a research team, consisting 16 members. In the current year, we have continued discussion and exchange of information on strategy for understanding gravity resistance. We have also carried out ground-based experiments to clarify the role of cortical microtubules in gravity resistance using Arabidopsis mutants, and the effects of hypergravity on the positioning of the nucleus, osmoregulation, and stress reactions.
