However, only limited information has been obtained for this graviresponse. To clarify the nature and mechanisms of gravity resistance, we have organized a working group, consisting 16 members. By ground-based experiments using tubulin mutants, we confirmed the essential role of reorientation of cortical microtubules in gravity resistance. We have also shown that calli and cultured cells respond to the gravity signal by the mechanism similar to that used by seedlings.
