Surface tension of the molten silicon decreased when Po(sub 2) increased. Furthermore, undercooling level of molten silicon became small with increasing Po(sub 2). Surface tension-temperature coefficient of molten SUS304 stainless steel showed a negative value under Ar/He-H2 gas flow condition.
