It is a super wide-field telescope (60 degree) that observes UV photons from air-showers produced by primary particles in dark side of the Earth. JEM-EUSO is planned to be attached to Japan Experiment Module (JEM) of International Space Station. It is promoted international collaboration of scientists among, Japan, USA, and Europe. The phase-A study (conceptual design) under ESA has been successfully finished in July 2004. However, Italian space agency and ESA are in difficulties to move to the phase-B study. Therefore, Japan and US team decided to challenge to the second phase of JEM/EF (Exposed Facility). It will be submitted to call for proposal of the second phase utilization mission candidate of JEM/EF, has released in November 2006.
