Effects of gravitational unloading or loading at 2-G on the properties of neuromuscular system have been studied in rats. Both passive and active tension produced by antigravity muscle, soleus, is influenced by the length of muscle. Since the angle of ankle joint at rest on the floor was unchanged, the soleus length was stable even when the environmental gravity was increased from 1- to 2-G. Therefore, most of the properties in 2-G group were identical to those of 1-G control. On the contrary, the growth-associated changes of morphological and functional properties of soleus, as well as motoneuron, were inhibited by unloading. The data suggested that the unloading-related inhibition of normal growth of neuromuscular system, especially in soleus muscle, was associated with abnormal growth of hindlimb bones, which was irreversible and caused significant abnormality of motor performance. It was indicated that stretching, which makes tension development and afferent neural input possible, is essential for the growth and development of soleus muscle.], 共催: 日本学術会議, 著者人数: 11人, Meeting sponsors: The Science Council of Japan, The Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (ISAS)(JAXA), 資料番号: AA0064113070}, publisher = {宇宙航空研究開発機構宇宙科学研究本部, Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)}, title = {神経・筋の発育・発達における重力の役割}, volume = {22}, year = {2006} }
