In order to investigate the way to reduce the two-dimensionality, a two-dimensional TLZ model is introduced. From the two-dimensional model, the two-dimensionality index delta is defined. It is found that the delta is not small enough on the ground in the large sample diameter. The microgravity condition cannot improve sufficiently near the crucible wall.
