Non-uniformed electric filed are formed with a needle and a flat-plate electrode. Using this system, since electrons or ions are emitted from the needle electrode, not only effect of external electric filed on single droplet combustion but also effect of electron or ion movements can be examined. The distance between electrodes is 50 mm and applied voltages between electrodes are from 0 kV to 6 kV. The fuel tested is ethanol and ambient gas is air at atmosphere pressure and room temperature. In these conditions, the corona discharge was not observed. The flames are deformed to cathode in spite of voltage polarity, and flame shrinks in all direction with applied voltages. Burning rate constant increases with applied voltages when needle electrodes is cathode, however it does not change so much for the opposite voltage polarity. These experimental results are compared with the results in uniform electric fields and the degree of flame deformation and the increase in the burning rate constants when needle electrode is cathode is larger than that in uniform electric field. From these results, the effect of electron or ion movements is discussed., 資料番号: AA0048095034}, pages = {141--144}, publisher = {宇宙航空研究開発機構宇宙科学研究本部, Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA/ISAS)}, title = {微小重力下における不平等電界中での単一燃料液滴の燃焼}, year = {2005} }
