There is considerable information available regarding the allelopathy phenomenon itself or potential about allelochemicals. The gravitational effects on allelopathy have been evaluated by applying pseudo-microgravity, generated by a 3D-clinostat, onto a sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) plant-lettuce system. It was found that the degree of suppression on the lettuce shoot and root growths on the medium after incubated sunflower fruits was less on the 3D-clinorotation. This result was the same as the case of velvet bean (Mucuna pruriens L.) which was found to have strong allelopathic function.
