Aqueous solution of free and bound amino acids (proteins and 'simulated interstellar amino acid precursors') and nucleic acid bases were irradiated with gamma-rays at room temperature. Bound amino acids were more stable than free amino acids. Samples with simulated lunar regolith (basalt powder) were more stable than those without the regolith upon gamma-irradiation. When amino acids were irradiated after water was removed by freeze-drying, their decomposition was not observed up to 30 kGy dosage. The present results suggest that lunar organic compounds supplied by comets were good targets for future lunar missions since they could be stably reserved in lunar regolith. It would be of interest to test stability of bioorganic compounds in actual space environments on an exposure facility of ISS where they would be irradiated with not only cosmic rays but also solar UV
