On the other hand, hypergravity treatment at 300 g for 1 h decreased the gene expression of XTH15, and increased that of XTH22. The effect of hypergravity on the gene expression of two XTHs was partially alleviated by 0.1 mM La(3+), suggesting the possible involvement of mechanosensor in hypergravity-induced changes in XTH gene expression. In addition, the morphology of the secondary cell wall was influenced by hypergravity. Xylem vessels showed intense staining with phloroglucinol-HC1 and autofluorescence under UV light at the basal region of floral stem 3 day after hypergravity treatment.
