NASDA (National Space Development Agency of Japan) has conducted 'Earthquake Remote Sensing Frontier-Project' (for which M. Hayakawa was responsible), and a systematic study of seismo-atmospheric and -ionospheric phenomena in addition to the lithospheric phenomena was carried out. The most important results of the frontier project is the convincing evidence on the presence of seismo-ionospheric perturbations.
