The ablative test specimen is heated in a 750kW arc heated wind tunnel at JAXA/IAT. The cross sectional image along the centerline of the test specimen are obtained by using a micro-focus X-ray facility at Shimadzu corporation. In order to correct a well-known artifact in the CT image called beam hardening, a thin metallic plate is used.
