The hybrid particle-in-cell (PIC) method is used to take into account the non-continuum effects of the electromagnetic interactions between the flow and the magnetic field. The magnetic dipole intensity was changed so that the characteristic size of the magnetic sail changes from several hundred meters to few thousand kilometers. The results show that the drag coefficient of the magnetic sail even increases as the ratio of the ion Larmor radius to the characteristic scale of the magnetic field becomes greater than unity.
