Accuracy of the QCT model was validated by the experimental results in terms of the total rotational transition rate from the individual rotational levels, which shows very good agreement with the experiment. The QCT model was then incorporated into the DSMC model to perform a numerical simulation of coupled rotational-vibrational-translational relaxation in the high-temperature nonequilibrium nitrogen gases.
